Let's start by defining "making money" a little tighter...I mean making at least enough profit to make a car payment. Some people make a lot more. Corey Rudl makes over 7 mil a year.

There are a lot of products available which will teach you how to make money from home, on the web, in real-estate, etc. Many of them are good, many of them ... aren't. What works well for one person may not work well for another.

Just like any other book, type of movie, favorite restaurant, etc., one style of "how to" may work well for you, but not for me. And visa-versa. So study the "how to" products like any other product and ask yourself, "Can I do this, in this way?" If you hate the idea of doing real-estate, then chances are that the really hot real-estate book just won't work for you are pretty good.

But, consider this: If you buy a $20 (or $200) book on building & marketing webpages, put up a website, and then make $200 a month, every month, after your monthly costs, then you've made a pretty nice little investment. Now that you have the info you can make several of those $200 a month websites. Like a hot stock, one of them might take off and make more than the rest combined.

Then you have a problem... do you fire your boss? Or hire him?

That said, here are some interesting ways you can go:

eBay.com: According to the ads on the radio some 500,000 people earn a part or full time income from ebay. They make a product (eg: brownies) or sell someone else's products or run their own ebay stores. Which one rings your chimes? Affiliate Programs: You get paid for selling other people's stuff. For example, you join Amazon.com as an affiliate, sell their stuff through your efforts (eg: your website,) Amazon tracks who buys what through your links, and then pays you. Adsense: Let google.com pay you!  The adsense program lets your site pull ads from google and display them (such as the ads to your left.) It's free to participate and you get paid each time someone clicks on one of those ads. How much? It depends on how much the owner of the ad is paying google. Here's how it works:

Google also has an Adwords program where you can have your ads appear along with google's search results. Some people do very well with that system. It's a great way to buy traffic and send it to your site. More on Adwords and Adsense here.
