Internet Marketing Tips from IMC is extremely helpful. Two thick manuals, a couple of CDs, and more information than you can digest in a month. Expensive, but it's a tax deduction and the tips will make back many times its cost. I also highly recommend subscribing to their free internet marketing newsletter. [Worldwide]

When you join the SiteSell affiliate program you get a 200+ page (adobe PDF) internet marketing manual FREE!

    Free Classified Ads

I have had really good success with this -- BUT you often need a URL that do NOT contain: "&", "?" or ".cgi". The new sfi gateways have this which is wonderful! I am hoping more referral programs start doing this. Be sure to have a free email address to use for responses as this generates lots of spam too! Try to find targeted classified ad sties. For example, if you are selling crafts or jewelry, try: Gems for Friends FREE Classifieds [Worldwide]

Here's a site where you can place your ad on 7000 Classified Ad Sites!

Beware - if you place ads in any category resembling marketing you will get lots of people sending you their offers through the email address you posted in/with the ad. So again, a secondary email account is highly recommended. You can also use an autoresponder for your email address in most classified sites.

    Free For All Pages

Some people like FFAs and sometimes the FFA pages can help traffic. Try EasyFFA [Worldwide] Use a free email address to avoid spam, you'll get lots.

    Free Webpages

Having your own webpage can make all the difference! The free and really low-cost sites have to cut some corners, but this doesn't mean the expensive sites are wonderful. Some of the expensive ones have really nice features and really bad service.

I really like Combustion with their live phone support (which I've used a couple of times.) And how many hosting services will send you a personal Thank You note when you join?

Free Web hosting - Companies that offer free web hosting have to make money somehow. So they'll send email and/or put links on your pages, and/or have rather slow servers and few features. Check it out, get your feet wet, and move up to a paid service when you become serious.

KeepMoney.com is hosted by CombustionHosting. They're not the cheapest, but they have live, friendly tech support (I've used it) and they give a darn. They also answer their emails, sometimes with a phone call!

Check out unix-tools.com for links to tutorials on how to build web sites.

SendFree has a great free Auto-Responder. If you desire NO ads, easy to manage interface and many more responders, Global Downline offers unlimited messages for $24 a year. [Worldwide]

Personalized sequential autoresponders insert the name of the person and can send follow-up emails on a schedule you determine. Statistics say that it takes 5-7 contacts before people buy, so this type of autoresponder is a great help. Aweber was the first and it's still one of the best sequential autoresponders. More sales and less work. Check it out!

MailLoop, by Mailloop, is a piece of software that sits on your computer and is awesome. It will give you unlimited auto-responders, do your mailing lists, and more. MailLoop will automate your entire emailing system. It's expensive, but less than two Aweber responders for a year. It doesn't do the dishes yet, but I think they're working on it.

The service that I use for my mailing lists and autoresponders is AutomateYourWebSite. The upside (Vs. MailLoop) is that they're online, so if you go on vacation you don't have to leave your computer on. The downside is that they cost more in the long run. They have a very nice system. If you do Spam mail, though, they will terminate your account.

    Advertise In Your Email Signature

Everytime you email someone, end with a line referring to the webpage you are promoting. Outlook, Yahoo Mail, and many other email programs have easy setup for this. Easy and free. Keep it to three or four lines. Copy the format of one that you've seen and you would click on.

Great Domainia offers domain names at good prices. They also have a bunch of really cool tools to help you find the right name! [Worldwide]

Gandi.net has some pretty cheap domain names with good functionality. They're a french service and their system is fully automated (ie: no customer service)

NameStick adds some great funcationality to their domain name service. They're perfect if you make money with affiliate programs. Check out one of my Namestick domains: tracking-affiliate.com which points to Corey Rudl's AssocTrac software.

GoTo.com, BrainFox, and many others accept paid targeted advertising. You only pay for TARGETED clicks to your website. Also check out www.payperclicksearchengines.com/

    Banner Advertising

This works if you have a GREAT banner. If you only have a so-so banner, it isn't worth the money.

Do the math - if 10,000 people see your banner and 1% of them click on it (which isn't bad) then 100 people will visit the target site (your site or the program you're promoting.) If 1% of those people actually buy then for every 10,000 banner views one person buys. Better make sure you're getting cheap banner displays!

If you want to use banners then get this book and design it according to his instructions. The best marketers in the world use his stuff, so you should, as well. Banner Ad Magic

    Get a Low Cost Webpage

Search engines penalize the freebies. So use Netscape Composer, or some other inexpensive page design program, to build some kind of content (eg: reviews, articles, commentary, whatever); Submit to search engines; Repeat the above and link all the pages to and from your home page. Global Downline offers a 50 meg webpage AND unlimited autoresponders for $24 a year. [Worldwide]

KeepMoney.com is hosted on Combustion. They have good features, great support (live phone calls!) and come highly recommended by search engine guru Michael Campbell.
